BASIC SOURDOUGH BREAD MAKING
This is a two-day workshop. These two days will not necessarily run back to back, and can be planned apart.
During the first session, you will learn about making, developing and maintaining a strong starter, and the basic chemistry and science behind it.
On the second session, we start with a mature and peaked starter, ready to be used, and will make several Basic Sourdough Bread, with success!
You will learn basic recipes from bread to focaccia, and will understand hydration, percentages and methods to use bread inclusions!

FABRICO DE PÃO DE LEVEDURA NATURAL
Isto é uma Actividade de dois dias. Os dois dias não são obrigatoriamente seguidos e podem ser planeados em alturas separadas.
Durante a primeira sessão, vai aprender a criar, desenvolver e manter uma Massa-Mãe forte, e compreender toda a ciênçia e química por trás disso.
Na segunda sessão, começamos com uma massa-mãe pronta, fermentada, madúra e no pico, pronta a ser usada, e faremos vários Pães de Levedura Natural, com sucesso!
Irá aprender receitas básicas, do Pão Natural de Fermentação Lenta à Focaccia, e irá compreender a hidratação, percentagens e métodos de fazer inclusões no pão.

Once a month, we run a fun, relaxed and simple cooking program, exploring amazing recipes from around the world!
Come join us to taste some great food and learn how to make it at home!
Currently, these classes are in Portuguese, but the Chef is bilingual.

This Program runs on the last Friday of every month, from 18:00 to 22:30 (in Portuguese).
Registration is required, and all listed programs are almost full, taking some extra on waiting list. If the waiting list exceeds 5 registered participants, we will run another program and repeat the recipe the following week (1st Friday of the Following Month, in English)

O registo é necessário e quase todos os programas descritos estão cheios, existindo uma lista de espera. Se a lista de espera exceder 5 participantes registados, faremos outra aula, e repetimos a receita na semana seguinte (1ª Sexta do Mês Seguinte, em Inglês).

HERBAL MEDICINE COURSE (EN)*

This is a Series of Lectures to present and discuss the Fundamental Principles of Herbal Medicine, exploring its concepts and holistic approach. These LECTURES will be presented in chapters, once a month, in a total of 10 sessions
Cost per session: €25
PRESENTATION SUMMARY:
- Herbal and Shamanic Medicine, concepts and hollistic approach.
- Botany – Structure, latin binomial and classification.
- Plant Chemistry and Phytochemistry
- Safety, drug interactions, adverse reactions, contraindications and cautions.
- Materia Medica Terminology
- General Materia Medica by Organ Systems
- Plant Uses, methods of administration, Herbal Teas, Syrups, Tinctures, etc.
- Introduction to TCM, Ayurvedic and Essential Oils.

Minimum Attendance: 4 participants, otherwise, Lectures may be cancelled/postponed with minimum 48 hour notice of cancellation.

We just added a twist to our Portuguese as a Second Language (PSL) Classes, and created a Cooking Program with language integration! Learn the language, witness the cooking and enjoy the food!

Will run (specific weekday) from 11:30 to 14:30
(If necessary, due to higher enrollment, we will expand this program to another weekday. At the same time, if registration is below the minimum required attendance, program will be cancelled until further notice)

Cultural Algarve - Ceramics
2.5-Hour Ceramic Workshop!
EVERY MONDAY
10:00 to 12:30 and/or 15:00 to 17:30!
Cultural Algarve!… Come and experience hands-on local ceramics! You all want to take with you a small souvenir from our traditional Portuguese clay work, right?
Why not make it yourself and take it with you?…
Come make your own Clay Sardine or a Swift?
We have prepared this simple 2.5-hour workshop, where you can make one, paint another one, and have it ready the following day!
You can even choose if you want it to be a magnet, a pin, or a hanging piece of clay work!
(Presented in English. Bilingual Portuguese, if necessary)

CERAMIC PROGRAM RUNS EVERY WEEK, OPEN TO EVERYONE!!!

Cost: €15 per hour.
Introduction to Ceramics, Decorations and Glazing Techniques.
Gradually, you will be exposed to multiple hand-building and decoration techniques, using a variety of materials and tools, allowing you to experiment, in a friendly and relaxed environment, and develop proper techniques to successfully achieve good results!
You will learn every step of the process, from a simple piece of clay to a variety of fired, glazed and decorated pieces of ceramic work, made by you!
(Program will be offered in English and Portuguese, if required)
Pre-registration Required – Max. 4 people/class
Minimum – 2 hour program registration.

Gradualmente, os participantes serão expostos a várias técnicas de construção manual e de decoração, utilizando uma variedade de materiais e ferramentas, permitindo a que possam experimentar, num ambiente amigável e relaxado, e desenvolverem assim técnicas apropriadas e correctas para conseguirem obter bons resultados!
Vai aprender cada etapa do processo, a partir de um simples pedaço de barro a uma variedade de diferentes peças de cerâmica, cozidas, decoradas e vidradas, feitas por si!
